Josef Chromy, Launceston 2025

Tassie! We’re back in 2025, in the same location, with a huge new lineup and a bunch of delicious wines to match. We loved this year’s event so much that we’re heading back on the exact same weekend—it’s kind of like Back to the Future.

In true Grapes of Mirth style, we’re bringing along six of Australia’s top comedians, an exceptional selection of wines from the Josef Chromy cellar, the renowned DJ Pedro Moshman spinning tracks, and some of the best festival vibes you’ll find at a winery.

Rhys Nicholson

You know him best as the host of The Weekly with Charlie Pickering, which has been running for 10 seasons on the ABC, but before that he was a regular on the small screen. Charlie built his reputation as one of the best Australian stand-ups of his generation, with award nominations both at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

A former journalist, mother of two teenagers and one of the most exciting voices on the Australian comedy scene, say hello to Chris Ryan! Chris is in red hot form with her laconic take on everything from romance to passive aggressive co-workers.

Prue won the prestigious national comedy competition ‘Raw Comedy’ in 2021 and hasn’t looked back since. She is one of the fastest rising stars of the comedy scene, gathering fans wherever and whenever she performs. This is her first Grapes of Mirth and we’re sure you are going to love her as much as we do.

Prue Blake

The “Merric” from Merrick and Rosso. Mez, as he is affectionately known, has worked at almost every radio and TV station in the country. You might have seen him recently getting smashed in the face on SAS Australia, Australia’s REAL reality show. Mez loves wine, so much so that he’s a qualified sommelier, with dreams of retiring to a big Chesterfield, smoking a cigar and drinking Cabernet.
