Lineup

Our first American comedian, from San Anselmo, California. He’s now Australia’s adopted son of comedy. He is a regular on Australian TV screens with appearances on every major channel. From playing Dave on the hit show ‘Flight of the Concords’, to ‘The Project’, ‘Just For Laughs’ and everything in between. Arj has a worldwide following, as a standup he won the coveted ‘Perrier Best Newcomer Award’ at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and has performed regular sell-out seasons at the Adelaide Fringe Festival and Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

Arj Barker

Eddo’s stand up is fearless and hilarious. A regular on Network Ten’s ‘Have You Been Paying Attention’, ‘The Project’, and ‘Hughesy We Have a Problem’. Winner of ‘Director’s Choice’ and ‘Piece Of Wood Award’ at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Not one to tolerate any level of bullshit, Anne’s stand up takes aim at any worthy target, no matter how close to home it is. And, as any of her many alter egos, including the desperate sarong clad Helen Bidou, Anne transforms into characters that are terrifying and familiar in equal measure.

Anne Edmonds

Actor, writer and podcast guy, Cam is a quickly rising comedian. You might have seen hin on SBS ‘The Feed’, Comedy Central ‘Share This’, on the ABC’s ‘Utopia’ or ‘Be Your Own Boss’. Named one of the “Funniest Aussie comedians to follow on social media” by the Herald Sun and “The most obvious Next Big Thing” by Time Out Sydney.

Cameron James

Lloyd is well and truly one of our own now, after making Australia home the Welsh comic is one of the most sought after comedians on the circuit. A regular on hit shows such as Have You Been Paying Attention? and QI we absolutely love taking Lloyd on the road and showing off beautiful Australian wine country.

Lloyd Langford

A former journalist, mother of two teenagers and one of the most exciting voices on the Australian comedy scene, say hello to Chris Ryan! Chris is in red hot form with her laconic take on everything from romance to passive aggressive co-workers.

Chris Ryan

The “Merric” from Merrick and Rosso. Mez, as he is affectionately known, has worked at almost every radio and TV station in the country. You might have seen him recently getting smashed in the face on SAS Australia, Australia’s REAL reality show. Mez loves wine, so much so that he’s a qualified sommelier, with dreams of retiring to a big Chesterfield, smoking a cigar and drinking Cabernet.

If Grapes of Mirth falls in a Vineyard and DJ Pedro Moshman isn’t there to pick us up and get us dancing, did GoM really ever happen? No, it did not. No Pedro, No Party.

Experiences

It’s Time To Head For The Hills!

Howard Vineyard is a family-owned Adelaide Hills winery set amongst towering gum trees, and terraced lawns. Pinot noir, chardonnay, pinot gris and sauvignon blanc are sourced from their 470m altitude Schoenthal ‘Beautiful Valley’ Vineyard, near Lobethal, whilst Howard’s Nairne Vineyard, in the warmer Mt Barker district is home to shiraz, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc. All the wines are estate-grown.

The Adelaide Hills is one of Australia’s most exciting wine regions and more than just the wine, it’s a way of thinking – they welcome the new and challenge the traditions with a youthful confidence.

Howard Vineyard’s Cellar Door and Restaurant is located just 35 minutes out of the Adelaide CBD.

The Hills Are Alive With The Sound of Laughter

One of Adelaide’s treasures, the Adelaide Hills, is literally on the doorstep to Adelaide. It’s the first time Grapes of Mirth will visit the region, and we literally handpicked the wine producer we wanted to work with.

Howard Vineyard have the perfect grounds to host an afternoon of comedy, wine, and music entertainment. Lush expansive lawn areas, an awesome restaurant, a modern cellar door and even a shed bar! And, Onsite parking aplenty, but we’ll also be running buses from the city for those that don’t want to play rock paper scissors to decide who’s driving.

Graze & Sip (if you can stop laughing)

Enjoy some delicious locally sourced produce throughout the event with a glass or three of Howard Vineyard’s wines. Plenty of food will be on offer for the day. Go for a gourmet picnic hamper or enjoy some of Asian inspired food that head Chef Cookie is renowned for, including DUMPLINGS, need we say more? Gourmet grazing at its best! The bar will be fully stocked with your favourite Adelaide Hills wines as well as local beers, cider, soft drinks and coffee.

Dj Pedro Moshman

We have a travelling DJ, his name is Pedro Moshman, we never leave home without him – he’ll keep the festival vibe going between sets and after the comedy show. Bring your dancing shoes, you’ll regret it if you don’t.
