For the uninitiated, An Idiot’s Guide to Wine (AIGTW) is a wine tasting unlike any other. Each guest sips six wines, handpicked by Merrick while he dishes out wine facts, food pairing suggestions and jokes about the French. 

Now in its third season, Merrick has toured the show around the world, hitting Chicago, Atlanta and London in 2026, as well as multiple sell-out seasons in Melbourne, Sydney, Darwin, Adelaide and various regional wine settings.

In 2026, AIGTW cracked the overseas market, evolving beyond Mez and a microphone into a globally scalable format, staged in cities around the world each weekend.
