An Idiot’s Guide to Wine – Special Edition
Kicking off our Ten Year Anniversary celebrations, exactly ten years to the day since the very first Grapes of Mirth, Merrick Watts will present a special Friday night edition of An Idiot’s Guide to Wine at an iconic McLaren Vale winery.
This will be a one-off, McLaren Vale specific version of the globally touring show, featuring six wines, handpicked from the regions best winemakers. We’re talking award winning, sought after varietals that you’ll only find together for one night only.
Tickets are extremely limited for this one-off performance, with previous ticketholders to any Grapes of Mirth event over the past ten years receiving special access to the ballot for first dibs at tickets.
An Idiot’s Guide to Wine
Merrick Watts has handpicked six of the region’s finest wines for a very special tasting experience paired with tasting notes, wine facts, hilarious stories and a surprisingly impressive amount of genuine wine knowledge. Mez may be an idiot, but he does hold a WSET Level 3 and is a Barossa Master. Don’t judge a wine by its label.

Grapes of Mirth turns the country’s best wine regions into a stage for six of Australia’s best-known comedians, pairing world-class comedy with local winemakers, great food, our travelling DJ and a huge sunset dancefloor. It’s an outdoor comedy and wine party. Let’s go!
