Launceston 2026

Launceston, Feb 14th

Your favourite wine and comedy festival returned in style.

On Valentine’s Day, we rolled back onto the lush lawns of Josef Chromy with a comedy line-up for the ages and what a day it turned out to be.

For years, Grapes of Mirth has brought some of the biggest names in Australian comedy to Josef Chromy, and for our seventh edition we truly turned it up to 11. The bill was stacked from top to bottom, delivering an all-killer showcase of homegrown comedy heavyweights. Making his Grapes of Mirth debut and performing in Tasmania for the very first time, Dave Hughes brought his iconic stand-up to the stage.

He was joined by comedians’ favourite comedian Luke Heggie, Geraldine Hickey (fresh off her Best Show win at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival), the mesmerising Nikki Britton, and one of our all-time favourites, Bronwyn Kuss. Holding it all together on MC duties was the ever-reliable Dave Thornton.

As the sun dipped and the rosé kept flowing, DJ Pedro Moshman took over to keep the dance floor buzzing well into the evening. Seven years in, and this one may just have been our best yet. Sunscreen, picnic rugs, great wine, huge laughs and a sea of smiling faces — that’s what Grapes of Mirth is all about.
