One of the brightest stars in Australian Comedy, so hot right now! WINNER of the Helpmann Award for Best Comedy Performer – 2018, star of ‘Utopia’, a regular on ‘Have You Been Paying Attention’, and Logie nominated for her role in ‘Rosehaven’ alongside Luke McGregor.

Celia Pacquola

Logie winning actor (‘Utopia’) and comedian Dilruk Jayasinha is making his very first trip to the Barossa. We enticed the newly slender Dilruk with pictures of Barossa food, and before you could say “how many calories are in that?” Dil had booked his airfare. Dilruk has had a massive year with his stand up show “Cheat Day” and has a huge back of tricks he’ll draw on for Seppeltsfield. One of our favourites and soon to be one of yours!

We welcome back to Grapes of Mirth our dear friend Mel Buttle. Mel loves South Australia and is not terrified when confronted with a glass of wine either, so it makes perfect sense that she is joining us in the Barossa. Mel hosts ‘The Great Australian Bake Off’ on the LifeStyle channel with local legend Maggie Beer; we suspect that may be the only reason she agreed to join us – whatever, Mel is brilliant and we’re rapt she’s on board.

Mel Buttle

I am a massive fan of Luke’s stand up. He is laconic (I had to look that word up before using it) and effortless but also as sharp as a barbers razor. This is Luke’s first Grapes of Mirth so make him feel welcome. Luke loves wine, so this is a win for everyone. Bloody rapt to have the great man on board and can’t wait till the 7th of September!

Luke Heggie

The host of Channel 10’s smash hit and Logie nominated ‘Taboo’. Winner of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s ‘Piece of Wood’ award in 2011, ‘Spleen Comic of the Year’ 2010, and awarded the ‘Tron Best Newcomer Award’ at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2007. He’s got a voice like a chainsaw, which pairs perfectly with his lumberjack moustache – appropriate, as his comedy is strong enough to chop down trees.

Harley Breen

The “Merric” from Merrick and Rosso. Mez, as he is affectionately known, has worked at almost every radio and TV station in the country. He also appears regularly on ‘Studio 10’ where he often ruins their infomercials and cooking segments. Mez loves wine, he also loves writing about himself in the 3rd person!

Supersized Seppeltsfield Cellar No.9

Rain, hail, or shine, this show will go on, as it will take place in Seppeltfield’s ‘Cellar 9’, which is a HUUUUUGE (at least twice as big as Donald Trump’s hands) winery working shed that will accommodate everyone seated comfortably. If the sun is out, there will be plenty of breaks to enjoy the outdoors with food and beverage in hand.

We’ve got prizes to win!

As has become tradition, there will be no shortage of prize giveaways on the day, including a ‘Taste Your Birth Year Tawny’ experience for 4, a Segway Sensations tour for 4 people, and lunch or dinner for 4 at the amazing and award-winning FINO Seppeltsfield!

Food & Wine on offer

We’ve got the amazing and award-winning Owen Andrews Catering bringing us the best of local Barossa fare! Plus the lads from Forage Supply Co, with their vegetarian deliciousness. And to quench your thirst, only the best Seppeltsfield Wines.

This year our incredible music master DJ Pedro Moshman will be accompanied by two live musicians; Virgil Reality (yes, that’s his real name) on trumpet / flute and The Maverick Experience (no, that is not his real name) on percussion – they’ll keep the festival vibe going between sets and after the show.
